Paywall: The Business of Scholarship Film Screening

Paywall: The Business of Scholarship is a documentary which focuses on the need for open access to research and science. The film questions the rationale behind for-profit academic publishers, particularly Elsevier, and their profit margin is often greater than Apple, Facebook, Google and other tech companies.

These two screenings are meant to serve as conversation starters at Adelphi, between faculty, the library, and other campus units around open access to scholarship and other open initiatives during Open Access Week 2019.

Screenings Times:

  • Wednesday, October 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Nexus Building, Room 159

  • Thursday, October 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Alumnae Hall, Faculty Center for Professional Excellence Conference Room

Light food and refreshments will be served. RSVP preferred (for catering) but drop ins are welcome.
