Welcome to the Digital Collections of the Adelphi University Archives and Special Collections (UASC). This resource is your portal to unique and rare digitized materials from our collections. Digital collections support the teaching and research mission of Adelphi University. By facilitating access to digital collections and information, UASC offers research value to Adelphi faculty, staff, and students, as well as scholars at large.
The Digital Collections is a constantly growing collection of resources, which features materials such as photographs, newspapers, posters, pamphlets, fliers, correspondence, manuscripts, and other items.
Adelphi Buildings Collection
This collection consists of materials digitized from the University Archives and follows the expansion and growth of Adelphi's Garden City campus from the twenties up to the present day. The Adelphi Building Collection offers a comprehensive view of the University's architectural development, from the modified colonial structures of renowned firm McKim, Mead and White through the dramatic campus redesign proposed by modernist architect Richard J. Neutra.
William Hone Digital Collection
The William Hone Digital Collection includes caricature prints by George Cruikshank, Robert Cruikshank, and Charles Williams. These artists of early nineteenth century London collaborated with the radical writer, publisher, and reformer William Hone (1780-1842) for the rights of free speech and press. Ruth St Denis Digital Collection
This collection consists of materials digitized from the Ruth St. Denis and Barbara Andres, Ruth St. Denis Collections. St. Denis (1879-1968) was a pioneer of modern dance and founded the Adelphi Dance Department in 1938. The Adelphi Digital Yearbook Collection: The Oracles
This collection consists of materials digitized from University Archives and covers the Oracle yearbooks from 1922-1989. Digitization of all the yearbooks to date is expected to take place over the next 2 years.
Adelphi newspapers
Adelphi Newspapers are available from 1921 to 2003. You can use the browse feature or the advanced search function to view the collection. Plans are in place to digitize Adelphi newspapers to the current date.
