ALUMNI DATABASES

Adelphi Libraries subscribe to several databases for alumni access. They are listed below. In order to access these resources, you must be registered as an alumni with IT. If you are not registered, please visit the IT Help Desk on the second floor of Swirbul Library or contact them at 516-877-3340. Note that having an Adelphi Alumni ID Card does not mean you are registered as an alumni with IT.

Subscription Databases

ABI/INFORM Complete	Full-text database
(Proquest) - contains full-text business periodicals and news sources from ABI/INFORM Global, Dateline, and Trade & Industry.
Academic Search Alumni Edition (Ebsco)	Full-text database
Covers a wide range of subject areas, providing the full text for more than 3,350 journals, as well as indexing and abstracting records for some 8,200 journals. More than 87% of the titles are peer-reviewed publications.
Business Source Alumni Edition (Ebsco)	Full-text database
Coverage includes marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, econometrics, economics and more. More than 1,500 full text magazines and journals are included, of which some 780 are peer-reviewed. Additional full-text sources include country economic reports, industry reports, market research reports, company profiles and more.
Community Resource Database of Long Island	Database
(Free on the Web) - Online directory of health, human service, and education agencies and programs on Long Island - services for children, teens, adults, families, and seniors in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Dissertations & Theses @ Adelphi University	Full-text database
(Proquest) - Adelphi-authored dissertations and theses. Full text is available from 1997 to present, and abstracts from 1980 to the present.
Eric (Free on the web)	Full-text database
the United States Department of Education operates this ERIC database containing more than one million records going back to 1966. More than 100,000 non-journal documents (issued 1993-2004), are available in full-text at no cost.
MedlinePlus	Database
(free on the web) - extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on over 650 diseases and conditions. Includes lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionary, information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials.
Project Muse	Full-text database
provides the full text of scholarly journals in fields including literature, history, visual and performing arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies, and economics. (Proquest) - full-text information from leading publications covering all aspects of health administration, including public health and safety, hospitals, finance, personnel management, insurance, population studies, labor relations and law.

(Proquest) - citations, abstracts and full text of articles in national and regional newspapers
Proquest Research Library Collection	Full-text database
(Proquest) - citations, abstracts and full text for articles in general and academic periodicals and newspapers covering various disciplines.
