Lost Materials
Any library material that is lost must be reported immediately. Any library material not returned within a semester after the due date will be declared lost. The borrower will be responsible for the cost of its replacements. The charge is the cost of the item, a $15 processing fee, and the $15 maximum overdue charges. For more information, see Borrowing Privileges.
If an item is found and returned after payment has been made, an adjusted refund is given if a replacement has not been ordered. The adjusted refund is the price of the book and the processing fee.
NOTE: Failure to return library materials or to clear outstanding fines may result in the holding of official transcripts, or diplomas, or the revoking of library privileges.
Damaged or Mutilated Materials
If library material is returned in such poor condition that it can no longer be circulated, the borrower is responsible for replacing the material. The charge to the borrower is the cost of the material plus a $15 processing fee. For faculty, administrators, and staff, go to Borrowing Privileges.

Books are arranged by call number, in both alphabetical and numerical order. Call numbers appear from top to bottom on the book:
LB
2395
.C648
1991
- The first letter of the call number represents the subject.
- The second letter represents a subdivision of that subject.
- The first set of numbers refers to an area of study within that subdivision.
- The second set of numbers is a code that represents the author's name, book title, and subject. It should be read as a decimal, i.e., .648.
- The last number represents the year of publication.
In the example above, L represents education, and LB is theory and practice of education.
