Commentary: Cobbett's Gridiron (1822) consists of extracts from Cobbett's writings selected to discredit him. This six-penny pamphlet was one of the many anti-Cobbett publications of the time, and was much copied by other opponents. Interestingly, the gridiron became a symbol which appeared at the head of some copies of Cobbett's own Political Register as late as 1835.
